bought a magazine called Baan& Suan (house&garden) yesterday and saw P' Hern's products are published. nice! hehehee
เมื่อวานซื้อบ้านและสวน ปกบ้านพี่เขียว แอบเห็นงานของพี่เหิรอยู่ในเล่มด้วย


hanging lamp made of plastic water gallon was his design created at the early of this year. the funky idea "using leftover item, adding new value and turning it into something nice" has always been his theme in doing art. P' Hern likes seeing things in other perspectives.
โคมไฟถังน้ำชื่อ see-it-thru มองทะลุถึงใจ เป็นไอเดียใหม่ของต้นปีนี้ และเป็นงานตัวแรกของยุค"hern" หลังจากพ้นยุคของ to see plan studio ไอเดียนี้ได้มาจากธีมประจำใจในการทำงานศิลปะของพี่เหิร "ให้คุณค่าและความงามใหม่กับสิ่งของต่างๆ"


these bricks were mentioned before in the previous blog. they were handmade for our house and used in P' Hern's room in Mo Hotel,CM and later interested other friends locally. sshhhhh... actually, these handmade bricks are just fun thing to communicate with our brickmaker neighbourhood.
อิฐตราเครื่องบินนี่เคยโม้ไปแล้วในบล็อคก่อนๆ ว่าทำเพื่อเอามาสร้างบ้านตัวเอง กับแต่งโม โฮเต็ล และกุศโลบายในการผูกมิตรกับเพื่อนบ้านที่เป็นชุมชนอิฐปั้นมือ

Hern -- the new perspectives

After 5 years of "live and learn", On the 31st of July, we decided to stop doing what we have never been good at, see scape, the restaurant, and stay home, get ready for the new project at the same place.

See Scape will be renovated and used as the furniture and design shop and, if possible, making it as Art Hub which we always dream of so many activities can be made happen this time

"functional art" as Khai had once described is what P' Hern has been doing and always wanna take it serious.P' Hern could not believe himself how he could sketch, at least, 10 things everyday and made it right away with the help our Pi Mee, his assistant.

He seems happy, relaxed and he even painted friends' portraits which he has never done it since many years.
His design will be named as "Hern", however, business plan is what we have to think carefully this time.

บ๊ายบาย see scape หลังจากงงๆไปกับการทำร้านเหล้ามาอยู่หลายปี เนื่องเพราะไม่ถนัดและก็ไม่ยอมไปต่อให้สุด เพราะแอบมีใจให้กับงานดีไซน์ ตอนนี้เลยต้องพักตั้งหลัก และมุ่งไปในทิศทางที่ควรจะเป็น เดี๋ยวจะแก่เกินแกง
ช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงพักอยู่บ้าน วางแผน ส่วนพี่เหิรก็ตั้งหน้าตั้งตาผลิตและผลิต โดยมีพี่หมีเป็นดำลังสำคัญ แทบไม่อยากเชื่อตัวเอง พี่เหิรนั่งสเก๊ชนั่นนี่ได้วันละเกือบสิบชิ้น
พี่หมีก็นั่งทำๆๆออกมาเป็นของจริง ท่าทางน่าสนุก
งานโปรดักส์ชื่อ Hern จะถูกปล่อยออกมาเร็วๆนี้ ที่โลเคชั่น see scape เดิม และถ้าทุกอย่างลงตัว seescape จะถูกเปลี่ยนเป็นแหล่งงานอาร์ตและดีไซน์ และยังนั่งชิวได้เหมือนเดิม

this is the work that he had just finished for his friend's place. this sculpture was once made as a performance's prop but there were some mistakes so Hern & his friend, P' jak, had re-made it.

P' jak mostly looks after the fiberglass technical part while Hern looks after the color technical one. it's a gigantic work and wide space is needed so it's made in Hern's previous house in the suburb area where no one would complain about it.

these pictures were taken during the fiberglass process, now the color is painted in Yellow!! This dog will soon be moved to a big green garden.. Run Boy

นี่เป็นงานที่พี่เหิรกับเพื่อนชื่อพี่จักรทำเมื่อไม่นานมานี้เอง เป็นหมาที่ครั้งนึงเอาไปใช้เป็นพร๊อพเดี่ยว แต่พอหมดงานแล้ว ต้องเอากลับมาทำใหม่ เพราะของเดิมผิดสเป๊ค ตัวใหม่เลยต้องทำครอบตัวเก่าเข้าไปอีกชั้นนึง
พี่เหิรคุมเรื่องทำสี พี่จักรดูเรื่องไฟเบอร์กลาส แถมเรายังต้องเอาไปแอบทำในบ้านสวนโป่งน้อย เพื่อไม่ให้เป็นการแตกตื่นแก่ชาวบ้านทั้งหลาย แต่สุดท้ายก็แตกตื่นอยู่ดีเพราะรถเครนหลายคันขนซากของอะไรบางอย่างตรงมาจากบางกอก ใครจะไม่มอง
คราวนี้ dom dog จะถูกทำเป็นสีเหลือง ถ้าได้ไปอยู่กับหญ้าเขียวๆคงจะน่ารักดี

these are Hern's design for his friend's place.

Liam & Hippo

this is E Liam, Hern's first lady. she's the first Thai-made Ford car. they stop selling her over 10 years because the balance system doesn't really work. some people said if you make a tight turn, she would make herself upside down. that's kinda funny character.


Hern got her from the 2nd hand market and he had fixed, repainted her with his favourite green and cut the sunroof himself.

there's no glasses at any windows, all the facilities are manually equipped. she the most humble summer car!!


E Liam likes Songran festival, the water festival in our town, every year, we would take her out showering, driving for a short distance and park her then we would a take a walk to the festival. She's too old for that





"the charm of antique car is to repair" this is what Hern often mention to many people. One time he drove E Liam back home late in the night with me, Shado, our bullterrier dog, and a bicycle on the back. the car suddenly stopped and couldn't start the engine so he parked her on the side of the road, rode the bike back home with me in the back seat and shado in the front basket as if it was not a big deal eventhough it is a long distance at 2 a.m.

อีเหลี่ยมเป็นรถยนต์คันแรกในชีวิตของพี่เหิร จะเรียกว่ารถยนต์ก็ไม่ได้เต็มปากเท่าไหร่ จากดูจากสภาพ มันเป็นฟอร์ดไทยทำ คันแรกที่เค้าเลิกผลิตไปนานแล้ว เหตุที่ว่า พอเราเลี้ยวเร็วๆ มันจะคว่ำเลย มันเลยไม่ได้รับความนิยมซึ่งก็สมควรอยู่ พี่เหิรได้อีเหลี่ยมมาจากตลาดสันป่าข่อย ตลาดมือสองที่ลือชื่อของเชียงใหม่ ใครจะเชื่อว่าเค้ามีรถขายด้วย นอกจากเสือผ้า พอได้อีเหลี่ยมมา พี่เหิรก็จัดการขัดสีฉวีวรรล (เอ๊ สะกดยังไงหวา) ทำสีซะใหม่ เจาะซันรูฟเองอีกต่างหาก ถือได้ว่าอิเหลี่ยมเป็นรถที่สมถะสุดๆ เพราะทุกอย่างในรถแทบจะแมนน่วลหมด ไม่มีหน้าต่าง กลอนล็อคเป็นแบบกลอนประตูบ้าน พัดลม ไม่ซื้อแบบเล็กๆมาติดเอง คือไม่ต้องถามถึงแอร์กันเลย ไม่มีทาง
อิเหลี่ยมจะได้เคลื่อนตัวปีละครั้ง ในวันสงกรานต์ แต่ไม่ได้ขับพาใครๆเที่ยว เพราะมันจะเคลื่อนได้ไม่เกิน2กม หลังจากนั้นจะเป็นหน้าที่ของผู้โดยสารที่ต้องพามันกลับมา
พี่เหิรเคยบอกว่าเสน่ห์ของรถเก่าอยู่ที่การซ่อม แต่มีครั้งนึง เวลาประมาณตีสอง มันเกิดดับขึ้นมาระหว่างทางกลับบ้าน โชคดีที่อิเหลี่ยมบรรทุกจักรยานมาด้วย(เป็นอะไหล่)
คืนนั้นคนสองคันกับหมาตัวตันๆอีกนึงที่ถูกยัดลงไปในตะกร้าหน้าจักรยานเลยต้องพากันกลับบ้านอย่างทุลักทุเล มีรถยนต์นี่ไม่ได้ง่ายเลย

besides E Liam, Hippo used to be his happiness and adventure. it's the yamaha motorbike and of course he fixed and painted it by himself. he said it brought him to many places and he's happy spending time with Hippo. One time, a guy bought hippo when Hern was short of money but later he bought it back. Hippo cannot move anymore now.

This is hern's dedication to those memory with Hippo

This is the house that Hern had designed. At the beginning, it was not in the life plan of having it. he is 29 years old and always been persuaded to continue studying abroad. One day his mom said she would buy him a piece of land and they found one during her visit to chiang mai from the bank's house fair.

they went to see it, he didn't really like it. it's just an empty land with no trees but it's the closest to his current forest home comparing to those for-sale-far-away-land. after that he had dreamed, researched, sketched the design he has in mind. he finally knows what he wants.







all the trees were brought to the house and the construction keeps going on at the same time.











some designs has to be compromised because it's mostly against local labour's knowledge about building a house as well as the common problems with some wicked foremen.However, he's almost there and his house is almost ready for the parties!

บ้านหลังนี้ พี่เหิรออกแบบและแทบจะลงมือทำเองทั้งส่วนโครงสร้างเล็กน้อย และส่วนตกแต่ง รายละเอียดต่างๆ เป็นบ้านที่ไม่ได้ตั้งใจจะรีบสร้างในวัยนี้ แต่เมื่อมีโอกาส พี่เหิรก็ตั้งใจทำสุดๆ
เป็นเวลาเกือบ1 ปีแล้วที่ได้ใช้เวลาสร้างบ้านหลังนี้ หลายๆครั้งเลยแอบกังวลว่าไม่ได้มีเวลาทำงานศิลปะที่รักเลย แต่พี่เหิรจะแอบรู้รึปล่าวว่านี่คืองานศิลปะชิ้นนึงที่ค่อนข้างจะตกตะกอนเกือบพอดี ใช้เวลาไปเกือบปี ไม่น่าเสียดายเลย
ตอนนี้บ้านยังไม่เสร็จเรียบร้อย เพราะรายละเอียดเยอะจริงๆ ไม่นับรายละเอียดของการต่อกรกับผู้รับเหมา สล่า(ช่างทางเหนือ) และบุคคลอื่นๆที่มาทำให้โตขึ้น
แต่อีกอึดใจเดียวเท่านั้น อิอิ home sweet home!!
